When you win the UK National Lottery, how you claim your money depends on how big your prize is.
Winning Lottery Tickets Up to £100
You can claim your prize from any UK National Lottery retailer upon presentation of your ticket. The retailer will validate your ticket and allow you to check the validation slip if requested. Check it against the amount to be paid out and return it to your retailer.
Winning Lottery Tickets Over £100 and up to £500
UK National Lottery retailers can pay prizes over £100 and up to £500 at their discretion upon presentation of your ticket. If they are not able to do so - and your ticket has not been validated - you can return to the same retailer when funds are available. Alternatively you can go to another retailer, or go to a UK National Lottery Post Office. If your ticket has been validated, you must return to the same retailer when funds are available.
Winning Lottery Tickets Up to £50,000
You can claim your prize from any designated UK National Lottery Post Office upon presentation of your ticket. You will be required to complete a prize claim form. Prizes may be paid by cash or cheque (maximum cash payout £500).
Winning Lottery Tickets Over £50,000
Any amount above £50,000 must be claimed in person at your home, another agreed location or at a UK National Lottery Regional Centre. Payment will be made by cheque or direct credit and you will be required to complete a prize claim form and provide proof of your identity.
Claiming Your Prize By Post
Prizes up to £50,000 can be claimed by post. Send your winning ticket and completed prize claim form (only required for prizes over £500 and available from your UK National Lottery retailer) to:

Winning Lottery Prizes Over £500
To claim any prize above £500 you will have to complete a prize claim form and give proof of your identity. If you are claiming a large prize, additional verification on your winning ticket may be conducted. All UK National Lottery Game prizes must be claimed no later than the 180th day after the closing date of the particular Game. Any such prize not claimed within this period will be forfeited.
Keep Your Issued UK National Lottery Ticket
Your UK National Lottery ticket is your record of entry and your way of collecting your winning money. Make sure you check your ticket is correct before leaving the UK National Lottery outlet. You should verify that the details printed agree with your coupon selections. As an extra safety measure, always write your name and address on the back of the ticket.
